PRESS RELEASE
August 11, 2007
Local resident and fourth generation home builder Joseph Hagerty was named the builder of the year. This award is given by the Franklin and Fulton County Home Builders Associations, which are affiliated with the State and National Home Builders Association located in Washington D. C. Mr. Hagerty co-owns Greenleaf Homes / J.M.H. Building and Remodeling L.L.C. and has been building in the tri-state area for the past 25 years. The award is not only based on home quality but for contributing to the local community and working within the association to promote better building practices. Mr. Hagerty attributes his winning this award to the principals that his great grandfather and grandfather instilled in him as a youth, “Build each home as if it was your own and what you would expect.” Mr. Hagerty loves a challenge and is interested in building not only from plans he has, but also custom homes and additions. He is a conservationist and has an interest in earth friendly techniques and materials to build “green homes”. He is one of the people who worked on the Allegheny Power Smart House and builds very efficient, low maintenance homes. These practices save money for the homeowners on utilities and maintaining their homes long after the project is completed. The Franklin and Fulton County Builder Associations are a non-profit organization established to help its members and members of the community work together in order to promote better building techniques and work on charitable projects. Membership or information can be obtained by contacting Executive Officer Thomas L. Hanks @ 1102 Sheller Avenue, Suite C Chambersburg, PA 17201. (717)-267-3360
